Hello and welcome! My name is Madison Gough and I am an actor, singer, and director based in the DMV and NYC areas. I have over twelve years of training and performance experience in numerous styles of acting, my most extensive being in Musical Theatre and Classical Theatre.
I believe that as actors, directors, and storytelling creatives, we succeed as long as we never stop learning. Through collaboration and connection we find discovery, and the most gratifying part of this work to me is learning from people and discovering things with people.
Updates!
The Two “Gentlemen” of Verona
I recently closed The Two “Gentlemen” of Verona at American University, where I lived out my Shakespearean clown dreams as the hapless Launce!
This was a developmental production of a new musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s play, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner, with original songs by Posner and Greg Kotis.
The River at District Fringe Festival
This summer, I am thrilled to be working with playwright Molly Jane Brennan and director Megan Kempton on their reading of Molly’s play, The River. I will serve as the assistant director as the piece premieres at DC’s District Fringe Festival.
About a year ago, I served as the assistant director and dramaturg for the first ever reading of The River at American University, and I am beyond excited to be returning to this brilliant team.
The Welkin at American University
This fall, I will be playing Sarah Smith and understudying the role of Lizzy Luke in American University’s production of The Welkin, written by Lucy Kirkwood and directed by Dylan Arredondo. The production runs October 22-November 1, 2026 at the Greenberg Theater.
Stay tuned for updates on purchasing tickets!
